That lead girl has an uncanny look of Margot Robbie.
No it's very different over here, inbetweeners gives you the general gist althogh thats secondary school but you get the idea , they've def done it the US way.

Looks interesting. Produced by Ridley Scott and has a great cast. Wonder how it could be anything more than a mini series

I watched it a few months ago. It's good. Has a bit of history to it. It was meant to be a mini series, but they are doing another season.
