Yeah only a top down angle will give the exact reading. They've figured out that a tiny bit of the ball is inside the line.
Also for this WC they have sensors inside the ball which they might have used for this.

Same for tennis too. The ball needs to be only a fraction touching the line to be called IN. All other parts of the ball can be clearly outside the line.

But do FIFA have that technology used in tennis ?

I listened to one of my friends who knew Football inside out, and changed my prediction to Ghana winning.  I had it Uruguay winning until that last day before the match started.  He said Ghana is the team to watch...so, I lost a point by listening to a Football expert!

I also realized after the France's 3rd match, those teams that are already into the next round, will not play the 3rd match with 100% commitment to winning, and may even rest their top players.  So, I did a last day change in my prediction to South Korea winning against Portugal - here I should get 4 points since I guessed the goal difference correctly as well.
