NZ on top at the close of day 2 thanks to an excellent unbroken partnership of 180 between Mitchell and Blundell.NZ were in real trouble at 56/4 leading by just 47 when these two came together. Looks like the pitch has eased up in the last two sessions of day 2 and NZ will look at building up the lead in excess of 300 with plenty of time available in this match.

Mitchell gets a deserved 100 in the first over of the day after the start was delayed by 30 minutes due to rain. England have the second new ball now and this is the best time to run through the NZ innings and as I write Broad gets Mitchell caught behind. And then a bizarre run out of Grandhomme the next ball.... And now Jamieson castled by Broad the very next ball. A hat-trick of sorts. Everything happening here. NZ slips from a very good position to an OK position in the space of three balls..... 251/7, lead of 242 with 3 wickets in hand.
