I was making a general statement. I think, everything took a drastic change with the introduction of the open economy in 1977. People gradually lost sight of values and went after money. That is my opinion. That said, open economy concept is not bad but it had to be introduced slowly........we went head first into it.
I agree, not a fan of JR or his policies by any means, but open economy had to come in at the time because of the way Srima's rigid economic approach that resulted in a scarcity. Both of them are equally accountable for the lost generation in SL. So, nostalgia is good but they were the chief architects of what our generation is having to endure.
