You talked is if you have seen Harvey in action and you laughing at Amla doesn't say much about your knowledge of players. Your comment about Harvey being in the same era as Bradman confirms it.
Well if you haven't read about Harvey you wouldn's have said so. Harvey's career overlapped with that towards the end of the Bradman's career. He has played 4 Tests with Bradman. I can't keep an exact account of how many Tests Harvey played with Bradman. I was saying in general Harvey has played alongside Bradman. Sorry if i'm not an encyclopedia like you who knows about every single detail of players, such as the players who played against them and players who played alongside themin the same team.
As far as Amla is concerned, he is not A BIG DEAL. It's your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. Amla had a some really good years, and in the recent past he hasn't been at his best. Esp when you have many bats averaging 50+ nowadays and in the immediate recent past. He's just another Michael Clarke, Mohammed Yousuf for me who had some exceptional years under their belt, but not essentially a big deal.
Bradman played his last test in August 1948 and Harvey played his first test in January 1948.......now that can't be called a overlap.....can it? I can't remember all these stats as well but I would look it up before making a comment. I have got things wrong many times as well but the manner you laughed at Amla and talked up Harvey was a bit silly. Harvey played nearly 50% of his matches against England where as Amla's career is more balanced which tipped my vote in his favour.
I didn't say Amla was a big deal and I don't have a problem with your choice of Harvey. He was a great of his era, no doubt but my vote goes to Amla for his overall record. I would say, we look at a player's overall record when picking him for a World XI, not a few years of his career.
