Kumara's action is a bit too violent, not a fan of his wrist work when delivering. It is hard to be very accurate with such actions in general. This is just a generalization.

This is just a generalization. Is it hard to fix at that stage? And has anyone fixed their wrist this late into their career? 01-29-2022, 01:46 PM

It is hard to be very accurate with such actions in general. This is just a generalization. It is going to be hard to fix now. It is probably a second nature for him now. Instead of risking it, he should just continue with his action make improvement to that. Pace + Accuracy is always difficult. He is young, he is not fit as he should be for a fast bowler that bowls with that kind of pace and action. He needs to become more fit. Chameera, Kumara, Hasaranga, Vandersay + Theekshana) combination looks deadly if everyone preforms at least 80%. Once again things have to fall places. 01-29-2022, 01:52 PM
Did Kumara fail the 2km test? I thought the problem was skinfold.
He's always been a bit bulky. Decent physique. Not really a bad thing for Test cricket. Has a better chance of surviving Test cricket compared to most SL pace bowlers who break down often. 01-29-2022, 01:58 PM
I'll pick him over malnourished skeletons for Test cricket. Managing to play 23 Tests by the age of 24 means he's very fit by SL standards.
Quote:There was confirmation from Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday that fast bowler Lahiru Kumara had been selected in the squad to play the three match series against Zimbabwe that gets underway later this week, but the player was withdrawn after he had failed the skin folds test. While Kumara had completed the two kilometer run under the stipulated time of eight minutes and ten seconds, his skin folds were over the limit making him ineligible for selection. 01-29-2022, 08:07 PM
To be honest, if someone can cover X KM in X seconds, then there is no need for skinfold. It should be either this or that.

Skinfold test is outdated crap. This is from 2017
