Sri Lankan Cricket Fans

Australia's three-Test series on the tour of Sri Lanka is scheduled to begin from July 26 - unusually - in Pallekele, as authorities seek to avoid a clash between the Kandy Esala Perahera festival and the Test. Australia will also play five ODIs and two T20s on the tour, spread between Khettarama, Dambulla and Pallekele from August 21 to September 9. Hambantota is the only functional international ground that will not host matches.

Sri Lanka tours usually begin in Galle, but with the Perahera season set to begin in early August, SLC has opted to make a change on this occasion. After Pallekele, the action will move to Galle before the series finishes up at the SSC. The P Sara Oval stadium is in contention to host a tour match, though this has not yet been confirmed.

July 26-30: First Test, Pallekele
August 4-8: Second Test, Galle
August 13-17: Third Test, Colombo

August 21: First ODI, Colombo
August 24: Second ODI, Colombo
August 28: Third ODI, Dambulla
August 31: Fourth ODI, Dambulla
September 4: Fifth ODI, Kandy

September 6: First T20I, Kandy
September 9: Second T20I, Colombo

These bastards don't do anything without financial benefit or political mileage in mind. I think this is an attempt to claim moral high ground because the previous government allowed racing events in the vicinity of Dalada Maligawa. Can't think of a way this benefits anyone financially.

Why not at the R.Premadasa? That venue has not hosted a test in a while.

Leave SSC out and use this Ketterama arena for the 3rd Test.

Probably not a bad idea cricketing wise , Premadasa used to be very batting friendly and that's why they moved tests away from that but now it's probably a more sporting pitch than SSC. But SSC being the headquarters of SLC don't think SSC will go matchless in a  series.

P.sara would have been the best bet,sporty wicket.SSC is a bore fest

P Sara is easily the best test wicket in Colombo from the current test venues. We should always plays there IMO.

SSC has been decent since the new curator took over. Don't see an issue if the same standard can be maintained.

I'd give Herath at least the Galle Test. Dilruwan should be in the XI for home Tests. He gets good turn.
