It's def scripted and a part of his PR campaign, if you watch his other videos you will see everything is a big PR campaign, I'm sure he must be a nice guy and all, importantly he has a likable personality so their management is really milking it.
In his videos you will see that he's hanging out with all kind of people.. blacks, whites , elderly people, helping out little kids , even he posted a picture praying in a mosque , It's a one massive PR campaign.

I think it depends on the boxer. Klitschko was beating younger guys for years until 2 fights ago.
