yeah works both ways. Kamindu has played A games before so dont think its too harsh to give him captaincy

There is a place and time for this. He pretty much "failed" in the recent call up with the national team, he'd be focused on scoring, picking up wickets and getting himself back in the team. This may put additional pressure on him.

The first ODI which was postponed yesterday is being played today at Dambulla. Pakistan A has won the toss and put SL A in to bat first. SL A seems to have got off to a terrible start with the score at 2/2 in the first 3 overs. (According to batsman.com) CI is yet to update the scores.
CI has just started to update the score. Both openers, Lahiru Udara and Lasith Croospulle out without troubling the scores and Sadeera out for 1. SL A 19/3 (7) with Kamindu Mendis and Ashen Bandara at the crease.

Very good! This should happen to SL for not selecting Kamil Mishara. He batted well not only in long format, but also in SLC Invitational .
This is our selectors ignorance in understanding player potential right away. When they do finally get it, the time has passed.

So you think Mishara alone could have changed the outcome of the match. Mishara failed in the first innings in both unofficial tests, he scored two 98s in the second innings and as I understand Mishara is to be included in the test squad to play the Windies later this month.
The second ODI washed off after one maiden over bowled by Kalana Perera.
