Yeah the benchmarks were a little too harsh and unreasonable but just a financial deduction seems too lenient I think.
Bottom line is skinfolds tests shouldn't be mandatory for selection, no other international cricket team does it.

That DNA test could be used to monitor body composition if they want. I guess they go with this because the DNA test is expensive.

Just because another team does not do something does not mean we shouldnt There is such a thing called innovation. Of course it may not work out in many cases but sometimes it can work. We should nto be shy to try new things but also be able to alter if something does not work

You don't know that skinfold is a really old method and results depend on the skill of the person using the calipers? I posted a lot of reading material some time ago.

I was referring to PJ saying 'no other team does it.' That should not really be a reason

There was news of other countries ditching it because it's outdated. I think that's what he meant.
Example
Quote:“Skinfold test was used primarily for a long time but it was found out that results related to body fat percentage were not accurate enough. Then there was a switch to DEXA test for calculation of body fat percentage.
“The DNA test is being done so that the body’s needs are known to maintain a particular fat percentage,” the official, who is aware about the module, further added.

No other team does it because it's not accurate. India changed to DNA testing few years back because it's more accurate. Even then it's not mandatory for selections.
Innovation is trying out new things not bring back old methods.
