It's exactly what's happening right now in this discussion. People doubt his legitimacy because they remember his past. It is what it is whether we like it or not.

There will be a few here and there who will always hold on to the past whatever a person does. They don't give that person a second chance to correct his mistakes and move on.

This forum consisting handful of people in not the entire society. I have spoken to people who have been critical of Sanath in the past but doesn't talk about this issue anymore. I haven't heard anyone talk about it in the recent past.
I know you for what you are saying, not surprised at all. Every one has a right to give an opinion irrespective of his past actions. Whether people accept it or not is an individual choice.

I mentioned the reality of it while addressing the exact words you used in your post when you said "I don't think anyone remembers" about the ban in particular.
Obviously people remember unless they have selected memory or a medical condition that results in memory loss. KJP was suspended in 2015/16, and people remember that well. Sana was banned in 2019. Why would you think people don't remember that? It's a bizarre comment. Perhaps you meant to word it differently.
I didn't say people shouldn't give a chance. When it comes to Gota, I think Sana actually wanted him gone. His love was mainly for MR back in the day, not Gota.
RE: Sri Lanka Cricket Discussion Thread - rsk19 - 07-20-2022
My impression is that Sana will support whoever wields most power. He could see the writing on the wall for Gota.

Well obviously you want to paint a good picture on Sana considering you two are good mates.
I just commented on the reality, if you like it or not it's too early for him to get on the high horse considering his recent past.
Personally I can't forget he fixing charge purely for the fact he pleaded guilty, his excuses were childish so he was covering up corruptions to protect for some big shots (or even himself) clearly, that doesn't sit right with me.

I thought he was going to be here 2 weeks ago when Canada played Nepal. But he didn't show up. He didn't get visa from what I heard.

It's not just a few people here, there were many on SM who questioned him when he posted comments in April/May. I don't know if that has changed now.
