SLC shouldn't have given NOC's to test players in the first place with the NSL being played and match practice for tests in NZ should have been given priority.

WTF is this.? How ethical.?
In an interview (with Vidu) Dodanwala (head of NSL) mentioned that these guys will join back for the last 3 games. I saw this last week I think. I'm pretty sure this was agree upon beforehand.

SLC Selection Committee debacle
It was recently reported that the National Sports Council rejected the list of names sent by the Sri Lanka Cricket Federation to elect the new selection committee. Commenting on that, Ranatunga said: “I got a list of names. But I didn't directly say no to them. I said that there are people who are more suitable for these positions.”

He was injured sometime back, then lost form and was dropped in preference to Jayawickrama and Jayasuriya. He has bowled reasonably well since coming back, getting a 10 fer in a NSL match. Jayawickrama and Jayasuriya are yet to prove/play overseas and their recent form has not been that good.
I dont think reasonably well by Sri Lankan standards is good enough for international standards. This match hints to me that he can lose the plot a bit too easily. Will have to see how he fares in the next few innings
Which of our spinners do you think is of international standard? Let us be realistic and not have unrealistic expectations. Embuldeniya is the most experienced out of the lot and has been our main spinner before he got injured and subsequently lost form. Jayawickrama and Jayasuriya have done well at home but yet to play outside Asia. Anyway I don't think spinners will play a major role in NZ playing in March/April.

SA have to win just one match against the Dutch to qualify, isn't it and we have to win at least 2 against NZ or all three?

We are winning this race

Prabath looks international standard. His home performances so far have been enough. Doesn't matter if he struggles away. Most spinners do. Embuldeniya barring that 5 for in South Africa and his 7 for against England has done little. Averaging nearly 37 as a Sri Lankan spinner is abysmal

I dont about that lol. I rate embuldeniya a bit better than Prabath.

It is better for SL in long term if they were to get eliminated in this world cup. Ending up as the 2nd or worst team at WC doesn't do anything. Failing to qualify will force some change.
