It's true what happened with Nissanka during the Saturday blockbuster had nothing to do with a technical issue, but there is an obvious technical weakness in his game. His head falls over and he keeps missing scoring opportunities when the ball is on the pads while facing pace bowlers. Sadeera has a similar problem when he faces spinners. He moves too much to the off side, which is why he keeps getting inside edges to deliveries he should be dispatching easily on the leg side. It's up to Nawaz to identify these errors and work with the batters. Obviously it's not practical to fix these things in a few hours. Should do it gradually.

^ Nice assessment Bada.
Gunawardene also pointed out something important:
We have a real problem bowling in the middle overs. And I don't think this issue will be easily fixable with our current personnel.
We need a real wicket taking spinner. And if I were the opposition team, I would be looking to see off the new ball against us and score big during the middle overs.

Angelo Perera was a good player, many players were sidelined in that era.
Even Roshen Silva who had fantastic domestic record was sidelined even after making runs in first few test matches.
Angelo Perera was a good domestic player, he looked out of place in the international scene, just like Shehan Jayasuiya, Sachith Pathirana and several others.

Angelo Perera, L Sandakan, T Kaushal, Roshen Silva, Akila Dananjaya, quite a few
Shehan looked good when SL played Pak in Pak iirc.
My favourite Bhanuka is also sidelined.

Bhanuka was good in T20I for a while. That's about it.

He didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know though. He said we could talk about where things went wrong after the tournament. The time for talking is over. We know what the root cause is. It’s time for ALL these influential former players to apply pressure to change domestic structure and voting system. Can’t keep talking and theorising, it’s time for action.
