Where's my Nissanka is a no for LOI gang?
No one wanted him out of the ODIs. People wanted him out of T20 because Firs few overs are vital and he is a slow starter.

Sports Minister Harin Fernando has called for a special meeting with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials tomorrow to discuss the team’s performance in 2023 and plans for 2024, including the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The meeting, to be held at the Sports Ministry, will be attended by SLC Executive Committee members, consultants Sanath Jayasuriya and Mahela Jayawardena, and cricket selectors.
It is expected to be a comprehensive review, focusing on Sri Lanka’s disappointing performances in the ODI World Cup and Under-19 World Cup, as well as evaluating plans set for the T20 World Cup and beyond.
Reports indicate that Sri Lanka Cricket High Performance Center Consultant Sanath Jayasuriya submitted a critical report on the U-19 Cricket, raising concerns about various aspects and warning that Sri Lanka Cricket risks further decline unless the school cricket system, which produces the country’s players, is reviewed and improved. This is SL under-19 in UK in 2016. They won the Test and ODI series. Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka have played match winning knocks in the current series. Several others have graduated to senior side. Just goes on show the importance of bilateral series at under-19 level.
This is a good squad, Avishka, Sammu Ashan, Asalanka, Praveen, Nissanka, Hasaranga, Kumara and Bandara.
Asitha and Kamindu Mendis is also from that batch. Is this the best U19 batch ?

So I`m not imagining things. Why has that happened. Is the country somehow more malnutritioned than before?
Probably because more guys wanted to bs fast bowlers when Vaas, Dilhara, Nissanka and Zoysa were growing up as fast bowling was much more popular then. Peter Philpot was SL's coach at once in 80s and he was surprised everyone was bowling fast and very little bowlers wanted to bowl spin despite having the best physical features for spin bowling.

Yeah, that might be the best batch in terms of the number of players who made it to the senior side.

Must be a very credible website

Sammu Ashan who was spoken highly during U19 days has somehow lost his way. Plays for Tamil Union now, his performances have gone down over the years, not even considered for the A team.

Do fast bowlers have to be tall, there is an advantage of being tall but we have seen what shorter bowlers like Malcolm Marshall and Lasith Malinga have done.

When this group played their U-19 WC, wasn't it the time West Indies won the WC? Shimron Hetmeyer played for them.
I watched some of our matches in that WC, I seriously thought we could win that time. Lahiru Kumara and I think Asitha Fernando too, were bowling so well at opposition batsmen. I don't know how we could not even make it to the Semi-Finals stage.
If we could not make it to top 4 with that team, I highly doubt we could do well with much weaker teams that we produce now a days.

Asitha and Kumara bowled together and Asitha looked so much better. He was a lot skinnier and appeared to bowl much faster than now.
