Wow great news. Fingers crossed if he get gets selected and performs, this is going to be a major break through for him. Without the 3 idiots, Bhanuka has an excellent chance to cement an ODI spot as well, if everything works out well for him.
Quote:Sri Lanka cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has qualified to represent the national team after passing all the necessary fitness tests.
According to cricket sources, Rajapaksa underwent the 2km run fitness test and passed it with 8.33 minutes, well under the required 8.35 minutes.
He also reduced his skinfolds to 71 from 104, reaching Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) policy on skinfolds which requires it to be below 85.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa has fulfilled both the 2km run and skinfold tests of the SLC, making him eligible to represent the national team.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has also concluded the inquiry launched against Rajapaksa for the recent remarks he made to the media, criticizing the SLC.
Bhanuka made headlines for criticizing the SLC and the national team head coach after he was dropped from the national squad over a lack of fitness. He thereafter took up a fitness challenge to prove himself.
Rajapaksa has reduced his weight from 85kg to 76 kg, and has also passed the 2km run and skinfold fitness tests, all within a period of 40-days.

This is great news, now it's up to the selectors. That said, I hope Bhanuka has not lost any of his power due to reduced skinfolds and weight loss.
Exactly what I am worried about too. Hopefully his hitting power remains the same .I’m sure Arthur and co will come up with some other excuse not to select him now again .
The former skipper who has been vocal about changing the domestic structure of cricket and administration system, echoed the same views today.
“I am reiterating again today – to develop the game, change the administration. Appoint an interim committee. Change the constitution” he said.
Ranatunga also commented about the importance of having strong sports ministers to reflect these changes.
“Unfortunately, the people who are forever in the cricket administration get the sports minsters also to dance to their tune, I don’t know how”
“We expected the new sports minister to make huge changes. But he’s also the same. He seems worst than his predecessors. I want to tell today that Namal Rajapaksa is failed in cricket, I am not going to judge him on other sports as of yet” Arjuna went on to say.
“This government doesn’t want to rebuild Cricket, they have other sports to develop” he alleged.
As usual Arjuna spot on, Namal wont do anything which can hurt his presidential chances.
Namal has been worse than the previous ones , all talk no work.
