Best of 3 matches for ICC Finals - mugatiya - 11-21-2023
So what does everyone think about making ICC event finals (at least the WT20 and CWC) a best of 3 finals?

Why not 5? Specially when a certain country is in the finals and ICC can rake it in. Asia Cup finals should be best of 3.

I voted NO because if ICC made the finals a best of 3 affair, Sri Lanka will never win a ICC WC, ever! I want to make sure what is best for SL.

Something I'd like to add.
The best team of a WC tournament is the team who wins the final.
Why? Because that team does something no other team has managed to do. Winning the final.
The team who "deserves" (a word thrown around too much) to win the WC is also the team who wins the final, because you don't deserve shit until you have actually won.
Best team of the group/round robin stage is a different discussion.

Best of three would be like a boring bilateral series.
The whole excitement/ interest in the final hinges around it being a one-off contest - with the added uncertainty of pitch/ toss/ dew factors thrown in.
