Origins of notable SL cricketers - Bada - 01-06-2024 Every SL Test player is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sri_Lanka_Test_cricketers I want to look into how many have come from outside Western province (Colombo + Gampaha + Kalutara). Batters in particular. Perhaps we can list them under each province. RE: Origins of notable SL cricketers - Bada - 01-06-2024 RE: Origins of notable SL cricketers - Bada - 01-06-2024 The last notable Test batter from outside Western province is DDS (#135). Looks like a lot of bowlers come from outstation areas, but not many batters. RE: Origins of notable SL cricketers - criccontent - 01-06-2024 DDS also attended Mahanama if I am not mistaken RE: Origins of notable SL cricketers - Bada - 01-06-2024 So he moved to Colombo, then went back Quote:de Silva was born on 6 September 1991 at Hambantota as the second son of a family of three brothers. de Silva started his cricket career at Deberawewa National School in Tissamaharama, Hambanthota. So Nissanka's family moved to Kalutara. Pathum Nissanka was born on 18 May 1998 in Galle. His father Sunil Silva worked as a ground boy and his income was low. Pathum's mother sold flowers near the Kalutara temple. In early childhood, he was raised in a poor family background. Started his cricket career during his time at Kalutara Vidyalaya. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathum_Nissanka RE: Origins of notable SL cricketers - Pram - 01-06-2024 (01-06-2024, 12:56 PM)Bada Wrote: Good work there.
