Supreme TV has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in Sri Lanka, from the IPG Group, the official franchise and broadcast holder. The multi-year agreement, positioned as one of the biggest broadcast deals so far in the Island Nation will help LPL penetrate deep into every nook and corner of the country and Supreme TV is committed to play an integral part in the television and digital transmission of the LPL starting from the second season.

My assumption is that Subaskaran wanted to buy Jaffna(if he don't, he wasn't going to buy any other franchise in LPL as it would bring in backlash), so he was moving strings around the league and pressuring LPL/SLC to have the previous owners moved out. 09-29-2021, 12:29 PM

Subaskaran was one of the major donors to the UK Conservative Party mainly during the time of David Cameron. His office was once raided by Police due to allegations of money laundering. 09-29-2021, 02:07 PM

From what I know sometime around 2014 when Sanath was in UK(not sure why) he got to know about him, tried to meet him(or met with him) and invited him to SL. Sanath proposed some business ideas. That's all I know. Not surprised, he started making big budget movies after the incident. What did the raid claim result though ? I know he throws money around and bleeds money. I went to one of his Grocery store in Mitcham called Food World. 09-30-2021, 12:28 AM

So it's another of your word of mouth thing ![]() Subaskaran has been giving donations to the North well before Sirisena/Ranil time, he did so even during Rajapaksa's time. Some reports even alleged he was close to MR. I don't know the result of the raid, I didn't read too much into it after that but I saw reports his office was raided due to allegations of money laundering. 09-30-2021, 01:35 AM
