Download and check out Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut if you haven't. Entire subplots were removed from the theatrical reducing Eva Green's character to a damsel in distress. Ridley never writes female characters that way. Studio was worried about the bum factor and Ridley obliged to his regret. I closely follow Ridley and Nolan mainly. No one has the visual flair and does world building the way Ridley does imo. Ridley also said there could be longer extended cuts for House of Gucci and the Last Duel. Just because here, he has a lot of material. Hope he will be there for this year's award round tables.

So they will follow a new character and a new story. oh yeah this was the afterlife script right? Wonder how that would have turned out! Even for Robin Hood, the initial script they worked on had Russell playing Sherriff and Robin Hood both. Again a bit of an out of the box plot. That also got dropped.

Have vague memories of Crowe playing Robin Hood. Can't remember the plot at all.
If Crowe played RH in a TV series, Keshan would have put it above Breaking Bad in that top 10 vote. I know that much 12-07-2021, 01:32 PM

BCS is too good not to be in that list. And Succession will make an entry too. RH will always be the show that got me into TV though!

Just finished The Last Duel.
And god damn that final battle, doesn't it live up to the title. Inventive and brutal and for a split second here and there funny too. It's quintessential Ridley Scott. I think those last 30-40 minutes or so were the best I've seen Matt Damon act too. Very raw. Ridley said in one of the interviews, that the reason why he had half masked helmets in was so that you can get in on the emotion. I found the first 30 minutes or so of the script a bit jarring, given how they were jumping around from scene to scene. But then it sets its on own pace and you get to used it. And on each perspective those gaps are filled in. I think there's an even longer cut coming. Looking forward to that. Deserves another watch to fully grasp the nuances of each perspective and how Driver's character think he's in the right. Need to find out what else Jodie Comer is in. 8.5/10 from me.
