Watched the Batman finally. 9/10 for me. Great film. Proper detective film at that too.
Loved the whole noir element to it and characters like Selina Kyle and Penguin are so organically introduced without feeling forced. Actually Catwoman has a great outing and arguably better than Batman too. Loved the take on Gordon and Alfred as well. I would have loved to know more about them but that is sure to happen in coming sequels. This is Bruce just 2 years into being Batman, and the conflict/turmoil he has within very believable and well done. Subtle things like his connection Mayor's kid are great touches. There's proper growth in the character towards the end. Complicated plot too, that's sure to unravel more in the coming films. Also cinematography choices are so cool. Highlight for me was that fight in the darkness where everything lights up only with gun fire. Good shit. That shot of Batman with the red flare guiding everyone through the water - beautiful stuff. I liked how they have shot the whole car chase too. I kinda wish the third act and the execution of that elaborate plan with the flooding etc. played out a bit better and bigger maybe. Because I think action sequences prior to that were much grander. It was a similar setup in The Dark Knight and the third act felt even greater than what came before it. But still just something very small to complain about. Overall loved it! It stands as probably my third favorite Batman. Top 4 are: 1. The Dark Knight 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. The Batman 4. Batman Begins
I didn't see the light until I was already a man and by then it was nothing to me but blinding.
