I am reading Nicolas Brooks book these days. Must read for every SL cricket fans.

So you think the current SLC administration is practical with all the corruption. Forget the minister, why can't the SLC do what is good for our cricket by changing the constitution and have a better domestic structure. They will not do it simply due to fear of losing votes.

I don't know the current status. Sports minister said SLC agreed to some of the changes a few months ago.

SLC has 147 votes. ECB had 18 or 21 some time ago. AUS had like 10. Most of these votes in the SLC election are called "paper clubs" because they don't contribute to cricket. Some don't even have cricket grounds. SLC has absolute power to pay these people and get votes. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think only a President can do something meaningful using his/her executive powers. This hasn't been done up to date.

As I have always said, it's amazing that SL had a great run in cricket for years considering only 3 or 4 provinces of a small country contributed to the game with all the problems we had. Those players performed not because of the system, but in spite of it. They had serious commitment.

SL cricket can't be developed to reach full potential until the voting system goes hand in hand with a new domestic structure that features about 6 provincial/zonal teams.

How about getting services of one of Mahela or Sangakarra as the head coach for a start. Mahela & Sangakarra are busy with IPL teams, rope in Dilshan, Malinga or Samaraweera. Even the 90's players can serve the purpose.

SLC should copy BCCI, get in past players as head coach & other person to run the National Cricket Academy like the one we have in Bangalore. VVS Laxman is the head at the NCA. VVS is the head coach when our second XI plays lower ranked sides.

Get in a pool of fit 7-8 fast bowlers. 4-5 spinners.

This current bunch is not that bad, they are missing Hasaranga & Chameera. Get in likes of Avishka Fernando, Gunathilaka now that he is free. Even Vishwa Fernando could have been better choice than Kumara.

Angelo Mathews's experience in the middle order would have come in handy in yesterday's match.

SL should take a leaf out of England 2015-2017 book. They should target 2025 Champions Trophy, 2026 World T20 & 2027 World Cup.

It appears to me that SL parties are just syndicate of crooks, how can a leader from hoards of crooks be a revolutionary leader ? Im pretty sure there are many other wanna be do gooders and their names are already on election ballets, but who votes for them ? who gives them media attention ?
