If he had been around when T20's were born or when heavier bats came on the scene. There would have been mayhem. For me there are only 2 better bats ever than Viv. Sir gary and the best of then all Bradman. But, perhaps the best of them ever is unknown to most. Quite sadly within 1 -2 years he developed failing eyesight and a terrible allergy for grass and he couldn't get on the field. A double century and a hundred not out on debut, triple hundred against England and then he faded away. The name of that man was lawrence Rowe. he would have been the best all time. Most of u kids never heard of him.
A few quotes below.
"Lawrence, also known as "Yagga", was an elegant right-handed batsman described by Michael Holding, his team mate, as "the best batsman I ever saw". It was felt that his ability was so extraordinary that Sobers believed he could have been the greatest of all West Indian batsmen. At one game Rowe hit a ball so cleanly that it followed a level trajectory like a guided missile over the boundary for six. Gideon Haigh describes the incident:
Early in his innings against England at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, in March 1974, he received a bouncer from Bob Willis. He smashed it flat into the stand at square leg; it travelled most of the way at head height."
