No, I think, he identified and analyzed this really well;  More than the bowling, this is where our problem is.

Against the minnows at Qualifying matches in Zimbabwe, we struggled to score more than 240 runs against good teams, but because we had Hasaranga and also fully fit Theekshana, we successfully defended all those lower totals.  We then ignored the real problem (that is this!) that we have.
Those qualifying stage teams being not top classed teams also helped our bowling attack. But, now we are facing the best teams in the world. It is not the same for our bowling, that is also without Hasaranga to add salt to the wound.  
Our batting culprits mainly are - DDS, Dasun and Wellalage..  If Mahela could identify this, and fix it now, we could do better in the batting dept. than this.  IMO, here is the best short-term solution -> KJP, Mathews and Wellalage/Hemantha.

Don't ask me then who is going to open with Nissanka.  That wasn't where the issue was to begin with.  Mahela fixed the wrong place!
Find someone else to open with Nissanka, it has to be DDS though, because that will not tilt bowling. If we had a better batting allrounder, who could also open the batting, we could have easily replaced DDS.

You mean why guys that average mid 20, low 20 and in 10s have failed ? Nothing can be done. Mathews is too old, not sure where he will be for the next WC, he shouldn't be in the conversation. Hemantha might be another DDS like hack but slightly a better bowler. SL needs genuine batsmen and bowlers. You can have a Chamika or a Hasaranga if they are in form. Other than that, no dibbly-dobbly players.

I have always been optimistic about our cricket but the time has come to be realistic as well. We will be stagnant until we give a permanent solution to the root cause. No point throwing names around of players, coaches or administrators, it's just a waste of time. We should see some progress in the long term if we start doing the right things now, otherwise we will have to live with disappointments and talk big about some one-off win and continue live in la-la land. For me personally, it's very difficult as a passionate follower of our cricket for decades, lived through the highs and lows and to see our cricket in such low depth.

Mrs. Herath could be called the pioneer of women's cricket in SL. Did lot of work to uplift the standard of women's cricket in the early stages.

It's not just batting that needs fixing. Even spin bowling is a big problem. These guys bowl too many short deliveries.

These things are an utter disgrace

There must be key performance indicators for SLC admin staff - like staff in any profession. To monitor their performance in terms of growth and progress of SLC and to hold them accountable!
