Smith did OK in SL considering how AUS collapsed. He fought in the first Test. Scored a hundred in the 3rd. Certainly has a long way to go before he can be called a great. Right up there with Root, Williamson, Kohli, etc. as one of the best U30 Test bats at the moment.

Not sure what you're trying to say. He has 16 hundreds in Tests and 7 in ODI. He hasn't done more in Tests?

Smith in overseas Tests - 7 hundreds and 12 fifties in 26 Tests. Average 53.8
He hasn't failed badly anywhere 12-15-2016, 09:57 PM

I wasn't able to watch of the match except for the first 25 overs and the final 20 overs. Pakistani bowlers beat the bat with the second new ball but unlucky not to get a wicket. Smith's faint edge on 97 went unnoticed by everyone. He and Handscomb look so similar when batting and both batted exceptionally well. That's not exactly true, he didn't really fail in SL considering Aussies were whitewashed and none of the batsmen really had a clue against Herath. He was highest scorer for the Aussies by far, scoring 247 runs, 84 more runs than the next highest @41.66. His overall away record is not bad at all with an average of 53+ with 7 hundreds in 26 tests. His overall test record is phenomenal considering he wasn't even recorganized as a top order batsman until 2013. 12-16-2016, 05:46 AM

Pakistan have fought back on day 2, taking 6 wickets for 100 runs so far. Amir and Wahab 4 wickets each have done the damage.
Maiden test hundred for Handscomb and two great shots, a six and a four.......to get there. He is turning out to be great find for the home side. On the other hand, another faliure for Maddinson. AUS 388/9 at the moment. |
