I also want DDS to open if he plays in the t20 team, or else it can be a burden for him and the team. I'm not happy with Avishka's technique. Also Thisara is not going to come back. So there are 2 slots in the team vacant and up for grabs. If Matthews gets continued to be ignored, it will be 3 slots. I think we should give players who perform well in indian tour and LPL a run in these slots. 07-04-2021, 01:59 PM

Then, we could ask Mahela to come back to the team too. Including Thisera tells me that you have not followed current PSL. He is an utter joke in that tournament. Embarassment! 2) DDS? We are going to destroy his batting in other formats. One of the few reliable players in TESTS for us. 3) I agree with all other selections - they are good! 07-15-2021, 11:13 AM
The T20 WC will be held in UAE and Oman in October.
A joint delegation of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be visiting Muscat, Oman, in the next couple of days. The obvious reason for the visit is to do a recce of the facilities in the Sultanate in the Middle East, where the two boards intend to host matches of the T20 WC later this year. Cricbuzz has learnt that the BCCI delegation, being led by secretary Jay Shah, will join an ICC team headed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Geoff Allardice, and officials of both bodies will fly to Muscat on Friday. Although the T20 WC is an ICC event, it is being hosted by the BCCI in UAE and Oman and a lot of agreements will need to be signed by the BCCI secretary. The primary purpose, of course, is to finalise the schedule of the tournament and before that the two boards want to have an inspection of the venues. Oman have qualified for the championship and it is expected that they will play their matches in Muscat, which has one ICC approved ground -- Oman Cricket Academy Ground. The general feedback on the facility is positive for sure but how many matches can it host is the question. In the first round, there will be 12 games involving 8 teams - Sri Lanka, Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Oman (Group A), Bangladesh, Scotland, Namibia and The Netherlands (Group B). Four teams from the first round will join India, West Indies, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Super 12. The ICC has not declared the schedule and venues but the tournament is from October 17 to November 14. Apart from Oman Cricket Academy Ground, Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will be hosting the matches. The only world cup winning team that could not be part of that list....all who are responsible for this - Sports Minsters, SLC big-wigs, and National Selectors should take the blame for it. They should be stoned by the public! Next up, is the TEST team...eventually we will be out of TEST status too as the way Zimbabwe's status was suspended for sometime. The current contract dispute, mistreating the performing senior players, will be the root cause of that. So, when that happens, please remember this contract dispute! 07-15-2021, 11:17 PM

To be honest, the performance was the fault of SL players, SL players played terrible shots, looked very dumb over the years. This is why people are irate, it is not like SL lost matches putting up a fight. I blame the players more than external factors. BCCI needs SLC's vote, also ZImbabwe has been mediocre for a long time, SL has only been off for half a decade, if this continues for another 4-5 years, then yes, otherwise I don't see ICC removing SL from having the test status, SL also has a history in cricket. No other team has gone to this much ICC tournament finals. |
