The pace at which they scored throughout the game, had a lot to do with Trent Bridge outfield, the pitch and NZ getting 500 plus in the first innings.

The sentiment was that the public will be alright even if England lose playing the way they did in the last two games. They were competitive, moved the game forward, and was very attractive to watch. A far cry from Lord's last year when they didn't even attempt to chase a smaller score than this.
This English batting line up is still fragile too. So interesting to watch.

That final session after tea was Baz influence, the mindset are trying to bring with this new team etc and of course the bouncer ploy with a shorter boundary to Bairstow's leg side. Bairstow said in the post match interview that Stokes told him, don't even try to play it down, hit everything for six lol
