Preliminary squad of 21 for the ODI series. Dhananjaya De Silva , Angelo Mathews , Kusal Janith Perera , Dimuth Karunaratne, Matheesha Pathirana, Kasun Rajitha , Dushan Hemantha have been dropped from the WC squad.

Avishka Fernando is back while Akila Dhananjaya and Janith Liyanage have earned spots on the back of good performances in the current 50 over domestic tournament. Not sure why Vandersay is there. Chamika Gunasekara is a surprise pick considering he hasn't played a single match in the Domestic 50 over tournament. He did well for the Emerging team against BD Emerging couple of months back.

Generally, the squad is good. Not sure about Akhila and Vendersay. Is Janith Liyanage better than DDS.? Glad that Danny is not included despite his connections.

If it's Promodya, he will definitely include Nuwan Thushara for ODI team. He gets formats wrong. He did that to Matheesha Pathirana

Very true! totally agree.

Also, DDS is probably dropped (being the ODI format, not T20 cricket) because he was not seem to be giving 100% in the WC matches, very lazy looking, and was hitting and getting out for many uncalled shots during crucial times of matches.  To add to that, him getting caught with Dimuth for playing that online video games.  If those were the reasons why he was dropped, then I support that kind of discipline no matter how good that player is!
