If cricket is the only sport you follow, yes.

Anyway, so two players who failed the fitness test for ENG matches get another chance. Did Avishka get a second crack at it for the BAN tour? Trying to figure out if they have an actual policy or just wing it.

You run a fitness test and select players for tour A. Then you do another even before the first game of tour A to select players for tour B which is like 4 weeks away. Is that how other teams do it?

As far as I know they do the fitness tests in 40 day intervals. If someone fails it they can attempt again during that 40 days. They did not have a fitness test just before the Bangladesh series though they are saying it in the interviews. They selected players based on the most recent fitness test which was conducted. Avishka had failed this. For some reason he has not attempted it again too (not sure whether they didn't let him)

The next date for the fitness tests fell when SL were in Bangladesh. So they conducted the tests in Bangladesh and in SL as well on the same day.

I agree with Malinga here. Its unfair for the players after doing yo-yo tests all this while to quickly adapt to this 2km thing.

This is more evidence that there is systematic discrimination against Banu.
I think Avishka Fernando passed the fitness test held recently.
I can think of a few high profile SL players who would have had trouble with these tests. Murali in his last couple of years when he had groin injuries. Aravinda when he was 34+. Malinga would have failed a few tests. Needless to mention Arjuna.

Not only SL players but few other international players of that era would have had trouble passing these tests. Some Indian and Pakistan players for sure.
