Sri Lanka Cricket will host the Pakistan ‘A’ Team during the months of October – November 2021 for 02 Four Day Games and 03 ODIs.

Pakistan ‘A’ will arrive in Sri Lanka on the 21st October 2021, and the tour will take place in a Bio-Bubble Environment.

TOUR SCHEDULE

28th to 31st October 2021 - 1st Four Day Game - Kandy
04th to 07th November 2021 -2nd Four Day Game - Kandy

10th November 2021 - 01st ODI -TBC
12th November 2021 - 02nd ODI - TBC
15th November 2021 - 03rd ODI - TBC

Samarawickrama has represented Sri Lanka in all three formats of the game, the last occasion being the third and final T20I against India in July, which Sri Lanka won to seal the series 2-1.

A 22-member squad has been selected to play Pakistan A in two unofficial Tests and three unofficial one-dayers.

The unofficial test series starts on 28 October in Kandy and the unofficial one-day series on 10 November in Colombo. The team has been sent to the Sports Minister for ratification.

We don't need a permanent captain for the A team and we are playing at this level after a long time. Nothing wrong in giving Sadeera an opportunity.

Yeah, Duvindu has returned, anyway the English club season finished in September. It will be interesting to see the composition of the squad, could be a mix of young and experienced players.

Stylish wicket-keeper batter Sadeera Samarawickrama will lead the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team against Pakistan ‘A’ in two unofficial Tests and three unofficial ODIs, starting from 28th October.

26-year-old Samarawickrama has represented Sri Lanka in all three formats and will lead a strong 22-member contingent that consists of several national players such as Vishwa Fernando, Oshada Fernando, Lasith Embuldeniya and Asitha Fernando.

The youthful squad picked with an eye towards the future, includes includes former Sri Lanka U19 captain Nipun Dananjaya, wicket-keeper batter Kamil Mishara, exciting middle order batter Nuwanidu Fernando, fast bowler Himesh Ramanayake, and slow left-arm spinner Duvindu Tillakaratne.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ team is coached by former Sri Lankan fast-bowler Rumesh Ratnayake.
