Amazing how we all treat Sanga and Mahela like custodians of morality when it comes to issues relating to cricket while all along being used by a white guy to further his own agenda for money. I've lost a lot of respect for the two.

All this might be news now but this has been the case since the mid 2000's. I hope all the juice comes out for the sake of our cricket.

This is an organized gossip campaign. Some one badly wanted remove Angelo Mathews from captaincy. Someone like Pijja's mind set should be behind this.

This is insane overreaction.

Just think logically about this for a minute.

The argument is that Charlie is puppetmaster in the SL team, and has been influencing selections for years. If this was the case, why have selectors or SLC come out and said it? Nishantha Ranatunga, for years, had the ear of Namal, who was among the top five most powerful people in the country. Sanath was also good friends with him. Thilanga, right now, is literally deputy speaker of the house. What sway could Austin actually have over them?

The main arguments seem to be about Chandimal being kept in the team, and Sandakan being kept out. What about that time when Chandimal was packed off to an A team tour in 2014, in what was almost an embarassing turn of events for him? What about Lahiru Thirimanne, who was having a worse run than Chandimal has ever had, being kept in the team month after month even when he wasn't producing runs?

Thisara Perera, who over the past year has been one of the least deserving players in the Lankan team, was there for so long, pissing virtually everyone off. He is not an Austin player. Couldn't Godfather Austin have found a reason to get him dropped, and installed his own guy in there?


Gut feeling is someone within SLC has created this campaign to detract from the real story, which is that SL's selectors, who have been terrible for most of the last year, have been given another six months in the job.

In SL, anything is possible!

I am not someone who is 'connected' to those in cricket circles or to the goings on in wider SL. So yes, when I found out about it, it was a complete shock.

Interesting how Austin doesn't defend himself but gets his two little subordinates to manage the PR.
