Only if you are in your born country... not some other country.
No
Quote:The Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs states that dual citizenship “means that you are a citizen of more than one country. While having dual (or multiple) citizenship is legal in Canada, some countries do not legally recognize dual citizenship. This may limit or even prevent Canadian officials from assisting you, especially if you are incarcerated.”

Say you are Canadian/Srri lankan and you visiting country X where they don't recognise dual nationality as an acceptable rule , then you loose your diplomatic protection, X country can say fk off to Canada and Sri lanka both.
Well that fedlaw quote seems to be misleading coz it is missing few sentences inbetween. Here. This is from the Canadian immigration site.
“Dual citizenship means that you are a citizen of more than one country. Dual (or multiple) citizenship is legal in Canada. However, it may not be legal in the other country or countries where you hold citizenship.
If you are a dual citizen and travel to the other country where you hold citizenship, local authorities could refuse to give you access to Canadian consular services. This could prevent Canadian consular officers from providing you with those services.
As a citizen of another country, you might also have to comply with that country’s laws and regulations. For example, you may be legally required to register for military service or have to pay taxes in that country. ”
Basically the same story. Only If you go to the country you hold the other citizenship, which is the birth country in 99% of the cases.

Also, non of this would influence your children’s if they get the dual citizenship unless they are also born in Sri Lanka.
