Can we not get Madushanka injured playing the boring format please? Thanks

Yes, third-placed Sri Lanka do have a chance. Assuming they sweep New Zealand away from home, they will get to 61.11%. In that case, they would need India to either win 4-0 against Australia or for the series to end in a draw, or for Australia to win the series so they can finish above India.

If Sri Lanka draw the series 1-1, they will finish on 52.78%. For them to qualify with that percentage, they will need India to get no more than 12 points from the series against Australia (3-1 or 1-0 series defeat), and for South Africa to get no more than 16 (1-0 series win)

Sometimes when you all (including Bada) get into discussions like this, I wonder, if I should even surrender to your opinions on other topics related to cricket?
Sri Lanka are placed 3rd (or 4th) on this table because of the favorable opportunities where we played in our test matches so far since this WTC table got reset (after NZ won the first WTC championship). Remember we were once no. 1 in T20I table?
I think, Chandimal captained our T20 team at the time Der

Then, what happened since we started to play more matches against the top teams?

There's no comparison whatsoever. This is why.

SL had a legit top team in T20I for a long time starting from 2009 and their #1 ranking had nothing to do with not playing top sides. If anything, SL had to face top sides more than the others because they made it to the finals in 3 out of 4 WCs during that period.

Hello, that is not the period I was referring to. We were no. 1 for sometime even after the 2014 WC victory. Then, when we started to play more matches, it all became obvious where we actually stand.
Same will be for the TEST rankings, but this will come from a different angle.

OK fair enough. SL are actually #6 in Test rankings. #3 is the position in the unfinished WTC. Will probably end up at #4 because SA should be able to beat WI at home.

What’s this rant about now?

I didn’t make the schedule? The ICC did. SL played what’s in front of them and now have a shot at the final..those aren’t even my comments cuz it’s copy pasted from the CI article.

I didn’t ask you to surrender to anything ? Why do posts on the forum just randomly get under your skin? Weird.
Dates confirmed for ICC World Test Championship 2023 final

The final of the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship will be played at The Oval, London from 7 to 11 June with a reserve day in place (12 June). New Zealand had won the inaugural edition, defeating India by eight wickets in the 2021 final in Southampton.

2nd WTC final.

This should be a very very interesting final with India not having the spin-friendly pitch advantage.
Don't count on it, ICC will find a way to have a spin friendly pitch. Anyway, the Oval is the most spin friendly pitch in England.
